ALQANTARA – a musical bridge between East and West

ALQANTARA

a musical bridge between East and West

With Ozan Saritepe (guitar) and Göksel Yılmaz (Oud)
10 October · 12:15 hr · Veur Theater

What happens when guitar and Oud meet? In ALQANTARA, Ozan Sarıtepe and Gökşel Yılmaz bring together two instruments that represent different musical worlds, yet share a centuries-old history.

The name ALQANTARA means bridge – a fitting image for the duo’s musical journey. Their repertoire travels from Turkey and the Arab world to the Balkans, Spain and Argentina, featuring music by composers including Dowland, Piazzolla, Bartók and Granados.

Guitar and Oud come together in a colourful musical dialogue between East and West, tradition and innovation – familiar yet full of surprises.
