What happens when Eastern philosophy and Western music meet? Guitarist Filippos Manoloudis takes the audience into the distinctive sound world of Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu, one of the most influential composers of the twentieth century.
Through Equinox and Folios, Manoloudis combines live performance with commentary and musical analysis. He explores how Takemitsu brought Japanese aesthetics and philosophy into dialogue with Western compositional techniques, and how silence, space, colour and nature became essential elements of his musical language.

Who is Filippos? Greek guitarist Filippos Manoloudis is one of the leading young classical guitarists of his generation, praised for his expressive playing, technical mastery and artistic versatility. His repertoire spans a wide range of styles and periods, and alongside the classical guitar he has a particular affinity with historical instruments. He performs internationally and has received First Prizes at competitions in Tokyo, Koblenz and, most recently, the Concerts in America International Concert Artist Competition 2026.
